We develop innovative solutions to help orphans in Russia and across Eastern Europe. We are Yearn. To Yearn is to want something deeply. Our primary objective is to inspire orphans to yearn for something more and to then give them the tools to make it happen. Yearn to satisfy basic needs. Yearn for better health. Yearn for better education. Yearn for stronger families. Yearn for safer lives. Yearn to learn.
Yearn’s ultimate goal is to help orphans and emancipated orphans1 (17-23 years) develop the basic independent living and life skills they will need to lead a successful and educated life.
We currently focus on providing basic material and medical needs for disadvantaged orphanages.

Note:
1. Each year, 15-20,000 orphans “graduate” from Russian orphanages and internats. These “emancipated” orphans have few skills to cope with life outside an institution. More than half fall into lives of crime, prostitution, and drugs or join the more than 1 million homeless teenagers living on the street. Ten percent commit suicide.
